Employee Care

Employees’ health is the biggest wealth of an enterprise! Healthy and happy employees help the Company create higher performance. PTI continues to promote and provide diversified health promotion proposals and care mechanisms and acquired the “healthy workplace certification and health promotion symbol”, living up to its emphasis about each employee’s physical and mental health and constructing a quality healthy workplace.

Health Promotion and Management

PTI, through healthcare professionals and health management, health promotion and health management for employees is embarked on. There are healthcare professionals based in respective factories to follow up on the health condition of the employees. We work with professional medical institutions and periodically arrange general and specific health examinations for employees. Health management then begins according to findings from employee health examinations. Medical institutions help with follow-up and management and provide individuals with psychological therapy channels and medical consultation service. High-risk groups with health abnormalities are controlled for their risk and evaluated for the possibility of returning to work and health information is released; prevention against occupational disasters is communicated, and health workshops are arranged from time to time.

Psychological Counseling System

PTI uses the "Psychological Counseling System" to let employees unload burdens and listened to themselves in this ever changing world of responsibilities. Care-free conversations during the Psychological Counseling System to heal inner wounds, rejuvenate, see a different world, and create a healthy work environment.

Maternity Risk Evaluation

"PTI values the health of working mothers. Other than forbidding working mothers jobs according to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, pregnant and postnatal mother less than one year are also forbidden to work on related hazardous jobs. With the doctors' confirmation, we eliminate the risks by offering different working conditions and jobs, disclosing related information, and respecting their decision to ensure the safety and health of working mothers."

Abnormal Workload Evaluation

PTI manage the prevention of disease triggered by abnormal workload toward employees with self-reports the loading, work in shift, work night shifts, prolonged abnormal workload, irregular schedule, frequent business trips, or tense working conditions. There employees undergo health risk evaluation, overwork risk evaluation, and Framingham risk evaluation. On-site doctors evaluate the results, talk with the employees, and if necessary, change job positions, decrease working hours, or take other administrative management to maintain employee health.

Comfortable Workplace

Shuttle Buses and Parking Spots

We provide free transportation vehicles with fixed routes for employees to increase the convenience of commuting to and from work, as well as to set up employee parking spaces for the parking of employees. Eliminating the need for employees to park cars and setting up dedicated parking spaces for pregnant women and employees with disabilities.

Diverse Food Choices and Recreation Area

We have an exclusive employee cafeteria that is a clean, comfortable, and relaxing dining environment for employees and offers nutritionally balanced and diversified food choices. PTI enforces food safety management by establishing complete management system guidelines. Besides adopting strict food safety standards to safeguard for employees’ diet, it also audits catering service providers in order to ensure that employees are eating with assurance and for their health.

Well-Equipped Employee Dormitory

To provide accommodation for employees from other counties and cities and make them feel at home, we offer dormitory suites equipped with air-conditioning, television, washing machine, and refrigerator.

Pregnancy Section

PTI understands the difficult process of pregnancy. Therefore, we have prepared a series of care measures for mothers-to-be and babies, so that from pregnancy, childbirth, to kindergarten, pregnant PTI employees can work while knowing that they and their babies are well taken care of. The “balance between work and life” strategy aims to create a family-friendly environment where employees can work with assurance.

Reserved Parking Spots for Pregnant Women

To allow pregnant women and postnatal mothers to have a convenient and preferred workplace, we have reserved parking spots for pregnant women as a protection of their prioritized right in parking.

Breastfeeding Rooms

To take care of female employees who are also new moms, respective factories are configured with safe, comfortable, and secret environments for breast-feeding mothers to use with assurance.

Parental Leave Policy

PTI employees can apply for childcare leave with retained position and no pay after they have worked for six months for the Company under the Act of Gender Equality in Employment and the Regulations for Implementing Unpaid Parental Leave for Raising Children. Employees can apply for it as long as their youngest child is less than 3 years old and the duration involved in the application can be up to 2 years at maximum.

Child-Care Service

PTI cares about the employees and their interaction with their families. We bring energy and happiness to their lives in addition to job opportunities in many regions. By having the employee welfare committee signing designated kindergartens and child-care facilities in the areas where employees reside, we offer options of pre-school care for the children of our employees, so that the employees can excel in both their work and their family life without any worries.

PTI Education Fun (PTI Ed. Fun) ~ Assistant and Care for Foreign Employees

Employees are a company's most important assets. Based on principles of diversity and equal opportunities, PTI employs both domestic and foreign employees. We also adjust our recruitment, employment, remuneration, and livelihood management policies based of RBA, CSR, SA8000, and applicable laws and regulations to protect labor rights and conform to global human right trends.

Retention and Development

In terms of the work, respective units, reflective of personal occupational needs, plan skill training courses for different stages so that they can get familiar quickly. Finally, through the contract extension system and the reward measure, outstanding talent is retained to enhance the overall operational performance of the Company.

Direct Employment

We live up to the belief in joint prosperity and encourage foreign employees with outstanding performance to stay upon expiration of the current term. Therefore, upon expiration of an existing contract, we will ask about the willingness to stay and help take care of the procedure to extend the employment. Employees do not need to go through complex and lengthy hiring procedures again and it also reduces the cost of recruitment and hiring for the Company, creating a winwin situation. It enhances the sense of commitment and honor among foreign employees to the Company, too.

Life Care

For foreign employees to be able to work with assurance in a foreign country, PTI provides them with a safe, clean, and thoughtful living environment. There is also the manager that specializes in Filipino to take care of their life, answer their questions, and help them get medical assistance. Diversified exclusive events are organized each year, such as the Christmas party, video game tournament, Halloween, and birthday celebrations, among others. Meanwhile, foreign employees are encouraged to take part in external festival events, such as the dragon boat contest. The prayer room and fitness room in the dormitory are optimized, too, to enable them to regulate their physical and mental developments and to realize a balanced life.

Respect Human Rights

PTI Taiwan takes care of diversification and equality at the same time. Besides hiring native employees, it expands the recruitment of foreign employees. It adequately adjusts its policies on the recruitment of foreign employees, hiring, compensation, and daily life management according to RBA, CSR, SA 8000, and regulatory requirements in order to protect the rights of employees and make them compliant with international trends about human rights.

Smooth Communication

We have a smooth communication channel and complaint-filing system to help us listen to what the employees have to say and enforce employee care. Upon getting foreign employees on board, we will spontaneously tell them the communication channel and complaint mechanism and examine problems and conditions facing foreign employees at work or in daily life through two-way communications, fulfilling employee assistance and care and ensuring that the autonomy and benefits of each foreign worker in Taiwan are not undermined. Being Their Family

PTI sees human resources agencies as crucial partners and hope to include them in implementing the RBA code of conduct. Through monthly meetings, regular audits and, training, we communicate the latest RBA and company policies, knowledge, and implementation measures, helping human resources agencies continue to improve their recruitment operations, care for their clients, and the guidelines and quality of dormitory management, so that the agencies can join PTI in being family to foreign employees.
